EPISODE ONE - THE SEARCH BEGINS

1. EXTERIOR - OUTER SPACE

SPACE IS EMPTY AND BLACK BUT FOR A FEW STARS. THE CAMERA IS ZOOMING OUT AND A SPACECRAFT COMES INTO VIEW. THE SPACECRAFT CHANGES DIRECTION AND HEADS TOWARDS A PLANET, ORKNA. ON BOARD IS LIAM STARSON AND EDIKO, A VERY SMALL ROBOT.
THE SHIP BECOMES TOO SMALL TO SEE. WE SEE THE SHIP LANDING AMIDST BLACK ICE AND STRANGE VEGETATION.

Liam: This is it Ediko, Rogue's secret base. I want you to come with me and if anything happens to me, anything bad. I want you to run back here, take off as quick as you can and look for help. Ok?

Ediko: Yes, sir. You can count on me sir.

Liam: Right! Come on then.

THEY EXIT THE SHIP. THEY WALK ALONG A PATHWAY.

Liam: This is where the robots are coming from, Eddy. I'm sure of it.

THEY PEER THROUGH A WASTE DUCT.

Ediko: This is scary, Liam.

Liam: I know but we have to find out if this is the location.


THEY WALK ALONG, MAKING MANY TURNS. SUDDENLY THEY HEAR A SOUND. THEY HIDE.
TWO ROBOTIC SENTRIES PASS BY.

Rogian sentry 1: It won't be much longer. The droids have all been distributed.

Rogian sentry 2: It's about time.

THE SENTRIES DISAPPEAR.

Liam: Let's go Eddy.

THEY CREEP FURTHER.

Eddy: Liam, wait...my sensors are...(picking up something.)

EDDY IS INTERRUPTED BY AN ORANGE HOVERBOT GUARD.

Hoverbot: Stop where you are intruder!!

THE SENTRY ROBOTS COME RUNNING TO WHERE THEY ARE. THERE IS NO ESCAPE FOR LIAM BUT EDDY GETS AWAY. LIAM IS TAKEN TO ROGUE. SUDDENLY LIAM DROPS HIS OUTER GARMENT REVEALING LAZER WEAPONS ATTACHED TO HIS FOREARMS. HE DESTROYS THE GUARDS AND THEN FIRES AT ROGUE. ROGUE BLOCKS THE BLASTS WITH A RAY-SHIELD. A BLAST OF POWER EMITS FROM ROGUEÕS HAND BLASTING LIAM A FEW METERS ONTO THE FLOOR.

Rogue: Your ship was monitored, Starson. Your every movement was carefully watched. When will you flesh- beings learn? Only a machine can outsmart another machine.

MORE ROBOTS APPEAR

Rogue: Take him to the holding cell.

LIAM SMILES KNOWINGLY.
CAMERA GOES TO EDDY WHO IS POWERING UP THE SHIP.

Eddy: I will be back, sir.

Controller: Liam's ship just took off.

Rogue: Blast it out of the sky!

LAZER TURRETS FIRE AT THE BLASTERPOD BUT EDIKO GETS AWAY.

Controller: The ship is gone.

ROGUE LOOKS AT THE SCREEN AND THEN WALKS AWAY.

2. INTERIOR HALLWAY. QUARN PALACE ON THE PLANET OF HAROSA.

A FOUR-LEGGED HELPER DROID IS WALKING AND COMES TO A DOORWAY. THE DROID (BLUE) SCANS ITSELF AND THE DOOR OPENS. THE DROID WALKS IN AND STANDS NEXT TO CORGAN'S BED.

Blue: Wake up Prince Corgan! (or an alarm sound)

Corgan: Hmm? What?!? Where is Occy? He usually wakes me up.



















Blue: I don't know, sire. Michael sent me.

Corgan: This is very strange. Pass me my shoes.

BLUE PASSES CORGAN HIS SHOES. CORGAN PUTS HIS SHOES ON.

Corgan: Right! Let's go find him.

CAMERA CUTS TO OCCY WHO IS ON CORGAN'S AIRBIKE. IN THE BACKGROUND ONE HELPER DROID IS
FIXING ANOTHER. OCCY IS HAVING A GREAT TIME, BUT HE SHOULDN'T BE ON CORGAN'S BIKE. SUDDENLY, CORGAN AND BLUE COME ROUND THE CORNER.

Corgan: Occy! What are you doing?

Occy: Corgan, um, let me put this down, I had a feeling there was something wrong with your airbike, but its all ok now, no need to worry.

Corgan: Hmmm, well all right then. Just don't do it again.

OCCY IS STARING AT THE HELPER DROIDS FIXING ONE ANOTHER.

















Corgan: What's the matter?

Occy: The way those droids repair one another. I find it disturbing. They've become so independent of us.

Corgan: What are you talking about? They're harmless. They have laws that govern their actions, robot laws.

Occy: Yes, thats the idea but how do we know that? Do you know where helper droids come from?

Corgan: Yes! Bizaro Technology!

Occy: We all know that Corgan, but what do we know about Bizaro? Who runs Bizaro Technology?

CORGAN SHRUGS.

CORGAN AND OCCY LEAVE THE ROOM. CORGAN'S FATHER, DANTE, WALKS BY.

Corgan: Morning Father!

DANTE IGNORES CORGAN. CORGAN'S FACE DROPS.

Occy: Your father has probably got a lot on his mind, Corgan.


3. INTERIOR. ANOTHER HALLWAY IN QUARN PALACE.

CAMERA CUTS TO DANTE. DANTE ENTERS A ROOM AND WALKS UP TO A CUBESCREEN. MICHAEL IS IN THE ROOM. MICHAEL IS DANTE'S ELDEST SON (BROTHER TO CORGAN).

Dante: Sit up!!

MICHAEL SITS UP SLOWLY.






DANTE PRESSES A BUTTON. A ROBOT APPEARS ON THE CUBESCREEN.

Controller: Greetings King Dante.

Dante: I'd like to speak to Rogue?

ROGUE APPEARS ON HIS SCREEN.

Rogue: Dante! Comrade. How can I help you?

Dante: I wish to know what is happening.

Rogue: It is the last hour, Tremayne. Very soon I shall enter the gates of the Universal Union Headquarters and take my place as your Galactic Master once more. Every Union Cruiser will be commanded to hand over power to my Robot Commanders. Any opposition will be dealt with severely. Once this has happened, you will be summoned to your new position. Any questions?

Dante: No. No questions.

DANTE AND MICHAEL BOW AND THE SCREEN GOES BLANK.

Dante: Michael! Time is running out. Go and speak to your brother.

MICHAEL LEAVES THE ROOM.













4. INTERIOR. LIAM STARSON'S CELL.

A MESSENGER ROBOT AND 2 GUARD ROBOTS ENTERS THE CELL. LIAM LOOKS AT IT SCORNFULLY.

Robot: Liam Starson! Rogue has ordered that you be executed mid-day!

Liam: What!

HE LUNGES AT THE ROBOT.

Liam: You filthy machines!!!

2 ROBOT GUARDS SHOVE THEIR GUNS IN HIS CHEST.

Guards: Step back, Starson.

Liam: OK, OK.

THE ROBOT LEAVES. THE 2 GUARDS BACK AWAY, THE DOOR CLOSES.

Liam: Hurry Eddy, Please hurry.

5. INTERIOR. QUARN PALACE. AN EXOTIC LOUNGE AREA. BLUE PUTS DRINKS ON THE TABLE.

Corgan: I don't know what you are talking about Michael. Rogue was destroyed years ago?

Michael: Rogue was never destroyed, Corgan. Dekker lied to us. Rogue is assuming power by force. We have no choice but to obey his commands.

Corgan: No choice! Of course we have a choice. We can fight him. The Union has soldiers, cruisers!!! What does Rogue have?

Michael: What does he have? I'll show you. Blue! Come here! Who owns you?

Blue: I belong to King Dante Tremayne.

Michael: Right, now tell me, Who is your master?
Blue: My master is Rogue.

CORGAN FALLS OFF HIS CHAIR AND BACKS AWAY.

Corgan: This is a joke, right!? You told him to say that didn't you? If he belonged to Rogue, why would he tell you??

Michael: They know who is on their side, Corgan. They're robots, they're not stupid. Anyway, this should convince you. Show us your weapons, Blue.

HEAVY DUTY LASER GUNS EMERGE FROM THE SIDES OF THE DROID.

CORGAN BACKS AWAY FURTHER.

Corgan: What the... Helper Droids arenÕt supposed to have weaponry!!!

Michael: Corgan, with Rogue as Galactic Master their will be peace and you and I will be given extremely high positions.

Corgan: I donÕt want a high position. I DONÕT WANT A HIGH POSITION! I just want things to stay the same. Occy was right, you know! Now I know who runs Bizaro Technology.

Michael: WhatÕs the matter with you? This is why father didnÕt want you to know too soon. YouÕre too young.

Corgan: People are gonna die, Michael and you are gonna be a part of it.

Michael: Nobody has to die Corgan. Now... a Rogian ship is on its way to pick us up. All you have to do is board the ship when it arrives. Now do you...

CORGAN LEAVES THE ROOM.

Michael: Corgan!!!!






6. EXTERIOR ROGUEÕS SECRET BASE ON ORKNA.

ROGUE BOARDS A SPACESHIP, THE SHIP TAKES OFF.

INTERIOR SPACESHIP

ROGUE PUNCHES A FEW BUTTONS. A MAN APPEARS ON HIS SCREEN.

Sergios: Yes, my lord.

Rogue: Any news?

Sergios: None my lord. Our last trail led to a dead end.

Rogue: You must find Edentia.

Sergios: Yes, my lord.

7. INTERIOR HALLWAY QUARN PALACE

CORGAN WALKS HURRIEDLY PAST OCCY. HE HAS A BAG ON HIS BACK.

Occy: Corgan! Corgan, whatÕs the matter?

Corgan: IÕm leaving.

Occy: Leaving? You mean youÕre going for a ride on your airbike?

Corgan: Yes, but IÕm not coming back.

Occy: Corgan!!!

Corgan: ThereÕs not time. Come with me and IÕll tell you on the way.

THEY BOARD THEIR AIRBIKES. TYPICALLY, OCCY STRUGGLES TO GET HIS BIKE GOING. THEY ZOOM OUT ONTO THE OPEN PLAINS OF HAROSA.

8. EXTERIOR UNIVERSAL UNION HEADQUARTERS.

ROGIAN SHIPS ARE LANDING AMIDST GUNFIRE. IN SPACE, ROGUE'S BATTLESHIP LOOMS ABOVE THE PLANET. ROGUE HAS THE GALACTIC RULERS ON HIS SCREEN.

Dekker: Stop what you are doing Rogue. Our ships outnumber you ten to one.

Rogue: Initiate the droids.

ALL AROUND THE GALACTIC RULERS HELPER DROIDS WEAPONS ARE ACTIVATED. THE DROIDS SURROUND THEM AND THE RULERS ARE SHOCKED.

Rogue: Every helper droid in the galaxy is my willing servant; give the command to cease fire now or your lives will be terminated. If you disobey there will be unnecessary bloodshed.

Harper: What can we do? All our ships are swarming with helper droids!

Dekker: Cease fire! Cease fire! Inform all ships to cease fire.

Rogue: Good! NowÉ command your Defense Cruisers to hand over power to my Commanders.

DEKKER LOOKS POWERLESS.

Dekker: Do as he says.

ON BOARD A DEFENSE CRUISER A ROGIAN COMMANDER STEPS TO THE HELM AS THE ÔGOOD GUYSÕ ARE LED AWAY CAPTIVE.










9. EXTERIOR HAROSIAN ATMOSPHERE

LIAM STARSONÕS SHIP ORBITS HAROSA. EDIKO IS CHECKING THE MONITORS. HE SEES LIFE FORMS ON HIS
MONITOR.

EXTERIOR HAROSA

CORGAN AND OCCY SIT BENEATH A TREE, THEIR AIRBIKES IN THE BACKGROUND.

Occy: Its unbelievable, and yet I had noticed something hadnÕt been right for a long time.

Corgan: I canÕt go back, Occy. If you want to I will understand.

OCCY IS UNRESPONSIVE.

SUDDENLY THEY HEAR A SHIP APPROACHING. THEY HIDE BEHIND THE TREE. THE SHIP LANDS. EDIKO EMERGES FROM THE SHIP AND WALKS DOWN THE SHIPÕS WALKWAY. CORGAN AND OCCY REVEAL THEMSELVES. THEY WALK UP TO THE ROBOT AND ARE HESITANT AND WORRIED THAT THERE ARE OTHERS ONBOARD THE SHIP.

Ediko: Greetings people of Harosa.

Occy: Greetings. Are you lost?

Ediko: I am not lost but I am in need of your assistance.

Corgan: How can we help you?

Ediko: My master has been captured by an evil warlord. I need to rescue him but I cannot do it on my own.

Occy: An evil warlord?

Corgan: Do you mean Rogue?

Ediko: Yes!


10. EXTERIOR HAROSIAN ATMOSPHERE

A ROGIAN DREADNOUGHT (LARGE SPACESHIP) ENTERS THE HAROSAN ATMOSPHERE.

Controller: We have spotted Liam StarsonÕs spaceship close to Quarn Palace.

Admiral: Deploy 4 fighters. Make sure this time.

FOUR ROGIAN FIGHTERS LEAVE THE DREADNOUGHT.

11. EXTERIOR HAROSA

Corgan: Come on, Occy! This is our way to get out of here before RogueÕs ship arrives.

EDIKO LOOKS INTO THE SKY. WE SEE FROM HIS VIEWPOINT THE 4 ROGIAN FIGHTERS.

Ediko: There are 4 ships approaching. We must leave now.

HE RUNS UP THE WALKWAY.

Corgan: Come on Occy!

OCCY LOOKS SKYWARD AND IS HESITANT.

Corgan: Occy!

Occy: IÕm gonna regret this.

THEY RUN ONBOARD AND THE SHIP POWERS UP. IT TAKES OFF AS A MISSILE HITS THE GROUND CLOSE BY. THEIR SHIP IS SHAKEN VIOLENTLY.







Ediko: Can you handle a weaponÕs console?

Corgan: No problem.

LIAMÕS SHIP, THE BLASTERPOD FLIES TOWARDS A CANYON.

Occy: Are you crazy? DonÕt fly into the canyon.

EDIKO DOES SOME TRICKY MANEOUVERING. 2 ROGIAN SHIPS FLY INTO THE MOUNTAIN SIDE. ONE LAZER BEAM CLIPS THE BLASTERPOD.

Corgan: WeÕre hit!

Ediko: Its not serious. Focus on what youÕre doing!

CORGAN SHOOTS ONE OF THE REMAINING ROGIAN FIGHTERS AND IT CRASHES. EDIKO AIMS SKYWARD AND AS THEY BLAST OFF, CORGAN DEPLOYS A HOVERBOMB. THE LAST ROGIAN SHIPÕS PILOT EJECTS BEFORE HIS SHIP EXPLODES.

Rogian Pilot: The Admiral is not going to be happy about this.

















12. INTERIOR HALLWAY - QUARN PALACE

KALDAR, THE ROGIAN ADMIRAL IS WALKING ALONG A HALLWAY WITH DANTE AND MICHAEL TRAILING BEHIND.

Dante (whispering): Has anyone found Corgan?

Michael: No, but he was seen leaving the palace with Occy.

THE ROGIAN PILOT APPEARS AND GREETS KALDAR.

Kaldar: Well?

Rogian Pilot: WeÉ umÉ were outnumbered my lord.

Kaldar: Liar!

A POWERFUL LAZER WEAPON IS EMITTED FROM KALDARÕS RIGHT ARM DECAPITATING THE PILOT. DANTE AND MICHAEL LOOK AT EACH OTHER WIDE-EYED. THE 3 BOARD A SHIP. THE SHIP TAKES OFF.

13. INTERIOR - THE BLASTERPOD.

Ediko: Fortunately the damage to the ship is only cosmetic.

Occy: This is crazy, Corgan. Your sense of adventure has gone too far this time.













Corgan: Occy! Would you rather just go along with everything? And what about this Liam fellow? He's obviously a good person who...who...what did you say has happened to him...um...Ediko?

Ediko: He has been captured by Rogue and Rogue is ruthless. Who knows what he will do to Liam.

Corgan: Exactly! Come on Occy!

Occy: Well, my job is to be your guardian and I don't think I'm doing such a good job of it.

Corgan: Well, I am the prince and I command you to be happy.

Occy: Well in that case I quit!!

Ediko: The Gegamast is powered up!

THE SHIP BLASTS INTO HYPERSPACE.

14. INTERIOR LIAM STARSON'S CELL.

THE DOOR OPENS AND THE 2 ROBOT GUARDS LIFT LIAM TO HIS FEET.

Rogian Guard: Liam Starson! You are charged with an attempted attack on our Galactic Master.

Liam: Galactic Master!! (softly) So...he has carried out his plan.

LIAM IS LED AWAY.











15. EXTERIOR UNIVERSAL UNION (UU) HEADQUARTERS.

KALDAR'S DREADNOUGHT LANDS. KALDAR, DANTE AND MICHAEL WALK TO ROGUE'S CHAMBER. THEY WALK PAST SCENES OF A CHANGEOVER OF POWER...ROBOTS LEADING UU OFFICIALS AWAY.

THEY ENTER ROGUE'S CHAMBER. ROGUE IS SEATED ON THE MAIN THRONE (A NEW ADDITION TO THE ROOM). ROBOTS, HUMANS AND ALIENS SIT ON SEATS AROUND THE ROOM. THREE SEATS ARE FREE.

Rogue: I welcome you comrades. Dante...is your second son on his way?

Dante: He has...um...gone missing my lord.

Rogue: Gone missing. I am sorry to hear that. Please take your seats. Would you like for me to arrange a search party?

Dante: Yes, my lord. He...uh...may be fearful of your robots.

Rogue: I understand. Kaldar! Attend to it!

Kaldar: Yes, Master.

KALDAR LEAVES THE ROOM.

Rogue: Now, let us attend to business. As you know, this galaxy used to be mastered by robots, one of which was myself. The robots were created ages ago by the Shelamian race.












Rogue: The galaxy saw a time of unprecedented peace and justice until the year 40 227 when the evil human Dekker decided to destroy the Master Robots. The only surviving Master Robots were myself and Edentia. My name used to be Nebula but I have renamed myself. As you know, peace and justice crumbled under Dekker's rule and so I began my plans.

I created Bizaro Technology and my helper droids were distributed across the galaxy. The version 5 droids were completely independent, being able to repair one another. Version 6 onwards had weaponry built into it. As you can see, my plan was flawless and Dekker is now in chains.

THE AUDIENCE APPLAUDS.

16. EXTERIOR ORKNA

THE BLASTERPOD APPROACHES ROGUE'S BASE ON ORKNA WHERE LIAM IS HELD CAPTIVE. LAZER BLASTS SHOOT UPWARDS FROM THE FORTRESS.

Ediko: We have to find another way in.

THEY VEER AWAY FROM THE FORTRESS. THEY LAND SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM A PARKED 5R JUNGLE STALKER (WALKING TANK). ARMED WITH LAZER GUNS THEY DESTROY THE PILOT ROBOTS AND GAIN ACCESS.

















THEY PILOT THE JUNGLE STALKER INTO THE FORTRESS. EDIKO SEES THROUGH A WALL USING X-RAY TYPE VISION AND SEES LIAM'S FIGURE.

Ediko: Follow me.

INTERIOR EXECUTION CHAMBER

LIAM'S HEAD IS IN A GUILLOTINE TYPE MACHINE.

Execution Bot: Liam Starson. For the attempted attack on our Galactic Master, you are hereby sentenced to death.

THE EXECUTIONER WAVES TO ANOTHER ROBOT. THE OTHER ROBOT PUTS HIS HAND ON A LEVER.

SUDDENLY, HIS HAND IS SHOT OFF BY A LAZER BLAST. A FIGHT TAKES PLACE BETWEEN THE HEROES AND ROBOTS. OCCY FREES LIAM AND THEY ESCAPE IN THE JUNGLE STALKER.

THE BLASTERPOD TAKES OFF.

Liam: Thank you so much. Who are you? You did wonders back there!


















Corgan: My name is Corgan and this is Occy, my...friend.

OCCY SMILES.

Occy: Pleased to meet you, sir.

Liam: My name is Liam Starson and no doubt you have met Ediko, my co-pilot. Where are you two from?

Corgan: I am from Harosa and Occy is originally from Argoe.

Liam: Would you like me to take you back to Harosa?

Corgan: We are not sure. Rogue has taken control it seems and my family seems to be in league with him. I ran away. That was when Ediko arrived and it seemed like an appropriate escape route, didn't it Occy?

Occy: Oh, yeah, definitely.

Liam: I see. So you're on the run?

Corgan: Kind of. I'm still in shock.

Liam: You are a loyal friend, Occy. You have both done the right thing. Rogue has deceived many. You will discover in time as I have that he is extremely evil. He has only one intention and that is to destroy every living being in the Universe.













Liam: He is jealous of the "breath of life"...something you and I take for granted. He longs to be a living being and it has made him hateful.

Corgan: How do you know all of this?

Liam: I have met a lot of folk during my travels. When so many stories overlap you get an idea of what the truth is. Listen, if you are not sure where to go for now, you can travel with me. I am searching for Edentia.

Occy: Edentia. I've heard that name.

Liam: Edentia is a robot, like Rogue but he is good, not evil. When Dekker destroyed the Master Robots, Rogue and Edentia escaped. I believe that Edentia is our only hope.

Corgan: Well, let's find Edentia then. What do you say, Occy.

Occy: If I say I'm against the idea, that won't stop you will it?

Corgan: No.

Occy: Well in that case, yes, great idea. Let's find Edentia.

Liam: Great but first we must rendezvous with my allies. Ediko, set our course for the Dark Triangle.

Ediko: Yes, sir!

THE SHIP DISAPPEARS INTO SPACE
